Fit Over 40

I found this little tidbit in my "Fit Over 40" newsletter this morning:
----------------------------------------------
Today's Topic:
How My Friend Susan Doubled Her Fat-loss
----------------------------------------------

Isn't weight-loss a bear?

Look, I understand. I went through it all myself.
I still have to watch it, too. I'm not perfect.

If anyone ever tells you...

"Hey, that Jon Benson guy is in PERFECT
shape!", you can laugh at them for me!

I'm not in perfect shape most of the year.

But I'm in 'good' shape...and sometimes I
strive for "excellent" shape.

Doesn't that sound more reasonable than
trying to be super-lean all the time?

GOOD!

Here is a tip from my friend Susan.

Susan was so frustrated with her weight-loss
slowing down as she turned 40 that she
literally cried herself to sleep many nights.

She tried everything:

-- lowering her calories to an unsafe level;
-- exercising more...sometimes hours a day;
-- even unsafe 'fat-burners' and 'diet-pills'!

Nothing worked.

Until she discovered the power of the apple.

"Jon, I've used your 'Fit Over 40' book as my
personal fitness BIBLE for three years. I love
it!"

"But I could not lose that last 15-lbs of bodyfat.
I was so frustrated...so close, but so far!"

"Then I discovered your tip about apples. And
guess what? It worked! I have finally hit my
ideal bodyweight and I feel and look fantastic!"

>>> I bet you want my apple tip!

No problem...I am here to give you freee stuff.
I know you will pick up my books when you can.
I believe life is fair and I try (sometimes I
fall short) to give more than I receive.

The plan is simple:

On Monday, eat an apple before lunch and dinner.
Wait 15 minutes after the apple, then eat.

You should eat a normal, healthy lunch and dinner.
You can learn more about healthy meals in my book.
It is too much to cover in an email (my book is
304 value-packed, weight-loss-made-easier pages.)

On Tuesday, eat an apple before lunch and TWO
apples before dinner. Remember to wait 15 minutes
prior to eating.

Repeat this on Wednesday.

Then take a few days off the apples.

Then continue and keep going until you shed the
bodyfat you want to shed!

I love this plan. It's so simple, yet so effective.
And it's healthy, too.

Give it a shot.

I may just give it a shot.

Okay...I like this idea. But does it still work if we eat the apples with a big spoonfull of peanut butter on the side?! =)

I'm with you Kay! That's my favorite snack!
Hmmm. This ounds interesting. I wonder what makes it work?

I believe it has something to do with the glycemic index and of course the water content to make you feel full. There may also be an enzyme in apples which helps burn fat. These are all guesses of course. I will have to do the research. I'm pretty sure you need to leave off the peanut butter unless that is your dinner!

Once again, "See you at the pool!"

So this morning I wake up from a dream where I am feasting on, not apples, but M&M cookies! In the dream I had apparently found a big bag-full outside somewhere and had proceeded to eat them....ya right, that would happen. I must be really desperate right now.
What are you guys dreaming about?

I'm dreaming about fitting into my summer clothes without the "muffin top"! Fortunately, I rarely need a sugar intervention. My big problem is real good food! And lot's of it!
